Adult Protective Services Louisiana mandates the reporting of abuse of adults with disabilities. There are no civil or criminal penalties for any person who makes a report in good faith. The APS Law also protects reporters against retaliation. Don’t assume that someone else will make the call. Adult Protective Services (APS) is responsible for investigating reports and arranging for services to protect vulnerable adults ages and emancipated minors who are at risk of abuse, neglect, exploitation or extortion.
